How to perfectly cook a hard boiled egg. Whether you call them hard boiled or hard cooked, eggs are a versatile food high in protein, relatively inexpensive and delicious. The Easter egg is traditionally a hard boiled egg decorated with bright colors. A perfectly cooked hard boiled egg should have a yellow center with no rim of green around the yolk, the white of the hard boiled egg should be firm. Learn to cook a hard boiled egg and make delicious egg salad, spinach salad and other recipes that call for hard boiled eggs.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sauce pan
  • Eggs
  • Water
  1. Step 1

    Place desired amount of eggs in a saucepan.

  2. Step 2

    Cover eggs with 1 inch of cold water.

  3. Step 3

    Bring water to a boil over high heat.

  4. Step 4

    When water boils, remove from heat, cover eggs and let sit for 10 minutes.

  5. Step 5

    Drain hard boiled eggs, chill in ice water and peel. They are now ready for egg salad, spinach salad, snacks or any recipe that calls for a hard boiled egg.
