Plan a trip during Labor Day weekend to the Arthur Cheese Festival. Get a chance to eat free cheese and crackers. Arthur is known for it's homemade cheese and was once home to one of the biggest cheese-making factories. You can also browse handmade crafts, see great live music entertainment, and a parade for the children as well.

Browse the shops up on Vine Street. Check out the Buggie Wheel where you can try samples of homemade fudge, purchase Amish-made noodles, jam, salsas, and more. You can even buy antiques and crafts there. If you are looking for Amish made furniture, visit the woodworking store to find rocking chairs, beds, and any other pieces of handmade furniture. You can special order here, too.

Step 3
Eat at Yoders Country Kitchen. It is the best place in town for Amish home country cooking. They have a daily buffet filled with fried chicken, Amish made noodles, potatoes, green beads, and more. You can order off the menu as well. Come in for breakfast, lunch , or dinner. It is a wonderful restaurant for the entire family.

Step 4
Get cozy at Marsha’s Vineyard and stay over for a night or two. The bed and breakfast was built in 2000 by an Amish contractor. There are two suites that have a kitchen , private baths, television, VCR, and central air. Feel at home in their country style like decorated loft, or spend some peaceful outside time on the outside patio. If you want to feel like you've come home, then Marsha's Vineyard would be the perfect place to lay your head during a trip to Arthur, Illinois.
