Instructions

    • 1

Obtain a 3- to 4-inch cutting from a San Pedro cactus.

    • 2

Allow the cutting to dry for about two weeks in a cool, dry place, like in the shade. This keeps the cutting from getting moldy.

    • 3

Dip the cutting in rooting hormone.

    • 4

Plant the cutting in a good mix of topsoil that contains perlite. About half of the cutting should be visible above the soil line. Water the cutting well.

    • 5

Keep the cutting away from direct sunlight so it doesn't grow too thin. After about six months, the cutting should have developed sufficient roots to allow for re-potting.
