How to Create a Cindy Brady Costume
Cindy Brady is the irresistible character on the classic sitcom of the seventies called "The Brady Bunch." Cindy was played to perfection by a very young Susan Oleson who spent elementary school on the backlot filming this sitcom. While Susan endured a lot of social hardships from classmates because of her character, Cindy enjoyed being the youngest sister to five older siblings on the show. She flourished as the beloved youngest daughter, and being the baby was a role she played up. Here is how you--or your own baby--can enjoy the results of creating a Cindy Brady costume.
Instructions

-
1
Start from head to toe for this costume. Get a blond wig if necessary, but this works best with your own authentic blond hair. Thoroughly brush out the medium length blond hair. Part it down the middle, and put it in two pony tails.
-
2
Next, heat up the curling iron. Use a large curling iron for this task; the bigger, the better.
-
-
3
Grab one pony tail, and hold the curling iron in a curl over the entire pony tail for one minute. Do the other side.
-
4
Spray hair spray liberally on each side. Make sure to cover up your little Cindy's nose and mouth while spraying the hair spray, and do everything to avoid getting it in her eyes. A washcloth over the face while spraying works best.
-
5
Pick out a cute dress. Cindy dresses very young and old-fashioned even for the seventies. Think Shirley Temple style when you think of Cindy, but make sure it has that seventies edge. A simple dress with a pinafore is ultimately cute on Cindy. Think classic little girl style only maximized. Being the baby seemed to make Carol dress Cindy especially adorable in style.
-
6
Put on a pair of matching flat shoes. Cindy is coordinated and matching on most levels. She is well taken care of, and it shows in her appearance.
-
7
Finish the costume by tying two matching ribbons in Cindy's hair. These should match the dress that you ultimately choose for your Cindy Brady costume.

Tips & Warnings
Try dressing as Mike and Carol to match your little one's costume. It's a fun family idea for dress up while trick or treating or attending Halloween fairs together as a family.
Don't try to go overboard in creating this character. From all the years of reruns, the character is an icon in and of herself. Simply follow the steps, and enjoy the feedback you get from others from your respectful portrayal of Cindy.

Imma do it soon for a summer-Halloween party, if there is one for my group, if not, for Halloween!! But where do I find a cute, old fashioned dress with a '70s edge?
