How to Draw a Modern School

While modern schools might be more bland than the classic school on the prairie, they are far easier to draw. By using one- or two-point perspective, you can draw a building that looks perfectly symmetrical and clean. The building described here is drawn using one-point perspective.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Drawing pencil
  • Pencil eraser
  • Drawing paper
  • Ruler
  • Protractor
  • or
  • Graphics program
  • Graphics tablet
  1. Step 1
     

    Draw a horizon line. Place the vanishing point as far on the left as possible.

  2. Step 2
     

    Draw diagonal guidelines traveling from the vanishing point to the points where you want the top and bottom of your building to be.

  3. Step 3
     

    Draw additional lines for the edge of the roof. These lines will make the roof look 3-D. Also, start drawing the windows.

  4. Step 4
     

    Draw a vertical line and a diagonal line that connect to the top and side of the house. These lines are the edge of the roof on the modern school.

  5. Step 5
     

    Erase the guidelines.
