How to Properly Answer Your Home Phone

When ever your phone rings there is a right way to answer. That phone call may change your life. First when your phone ring do not pickup on the first ring you may cut off the caller. Allow your phone to ring at lease two time before answering. Once you pickup the phone make sure that you do not have any food or gum in your mouth and that your throat is clear. Now that you have cleared your mouth began to speak slowly but clearly. Make sure that your greeting is friendly yet frim.After your friendly greeting then allow the caller to state who or what they are calling for. Once you have heard the caller out then with a friendly yet calm voice reply to the caller. If the caller has called the wrong number don't get rude just simply let the know that they have called the wrong number with a friendly tone. If the phone call was not for you, but for someone else ask the caller if they would hold on while you get the person that they are calling for. Do not call out loud for the person that they caller is calling for. Put the phone down and go to that person, let them know that they have a phone call. If they are busy then go back to the phone and tell the caller that the person they were calling for is busy. Ask the caller at that time would they like to hold on or would they like to leave a message. If the caller wants to hold on always give them a time frame for their wait if they are o.k.. with that put the caller on hold. if the caller wants to leave a message make sure that you have paper and a pen. Began to write down the message. Make sure that you write clearly so that the person the caller was calling for can read it. Now make sure that the person who the call came for get the message.
