Learn how to Clean a Shotgun Using only Household Items
Things You'll Need
- Papertowels
- String(at least 8 inches longer than the gun barrel)
- Nail
- WD-40
Instructions

Take one paper towel and roll it up like a cigar.

Tie the string around the center of the rolled paper towel.

Tie the other end of the string around the nail. ( A screw or other small household item can be substituted.)

Spray a generous amount of WD-40 on the paper towel and bend the paper towel in half at the point the string is tied.

Open the chamber of the shotgun.

Drop the end of the string with the nail attached into the chamber and feed it down until it comes out the end of the gun barrel.

Pull the paper towel through the gun barrel to remove burnt powder and rust.

Repeat these steps until barrel is clean.

After the barrel is clean of powder, pull a dry paper towel without WD40 through the barrel.

Take a paper towel, apply small amount of WD40, and wipe off the metal on the outside of the gun.

Tips & Warnings
Always pull the paper towel from the chamber to the end of the gun barrel. If done in reverse, the used gun powder will fall into the gun chamber.
ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE GUN IS UNLOADED FIRST.
