Ireland is a magnificent country full of legend and beautiful greenery. Ireland is one of the most popular destinations in Europe, and definitely unique. Travel to Ireland is enjoyable in every season, but some months offer more than others.
Christmas
Christmas is a great time of year to visit. When walking the streets you can see lighting and decorations. Nearly every pub has live music playing. The downside is that the weather is normally cold and days are short.
Summer
Summer is arguably the best time to visit Ireland. Days are long, the weather warmer and most attractions stay open longer. The downfall is that summer is the busiest travel season for Ireland; costs for hotels rise, and most attractions are packed with tourists.
March-May
Spring is a wonderful time of year to visit Ireland. The temperature is warmer, and flowers are in bloom. Daylight, though not as abundant as in the summer, is still plentiful. Tourist attractions are operating. Spring is not quite as busy as the summer, but it is the second busiest travel season for Ireland. Prices for lodging start going up in March.
September-October
September-October is one of the best times to visit Ireland. The sun does not set until 9 p.m., the temperature is still warm and the rainfall is less than in other seasons. Tourists visit Ireland in this season so the streets and attractions will not be desolate. During this season, prices are less expensive than the spring and summer months.
Times to Avoid
January and February are two very cold months. Tthe sun sets at 4:30 p.m. and precipitation is at its highest. The Christmas charm is over and fewer attractions are open. November is nearly as cold as December but without the Christmas festivities. Daylight decreases and rainfall amounts begin to increase. These months offer less than other seasons in Ireland.
