Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- time
- children in school
- germ-x
- to talk to your children
- information
Step1
The first thing you can do is to speak with your child's teacher. Find out what the health precautions are: such as when they can wash their hands, where tissues are located, etc. Some schools provide sinks in the classroom, so your child is not limited to washing their hands only during restroom breaks. After finding out this information, remind your child of when he or she should wash their hands, etc.
Step2
Next you can teach your child to not drink after other students, as well as eating after. Encourage them to use tissues to blow their nose and also maybe give them a small personal pack to keep with them if they have the sniffles. There is no need to go over board, but instilling the proper information to your child will help them stay healthy.
Step3
You can also remind your child that when there is a high amount of sick students, it is a good idea not to rub their own eyes or mouth with dirty hands as that is a good way to spread germs. Also you can carry germ-x in your purse or car so when you pick your kids up from school they can immediately cleanse their hands. If a child rides the bus, remind them to wash their hands when they get home.
Step4
You can also give your children vitamins to help boost their immune system. Consult with your child's Dr. to see what kind would be best.
