Being your own boss in a direct sales business is a great feeling. Making a lot of money with your direct sales business is an even better feeling. Let’s take a look at some great ways to promote your direct sales business so you attract new customers as well as more people for your downline.

  1. Step 1

    Start a blog that links to your business website and update it no less than three times a week.

    Cover topics like: why you love your particular direct sales company, specific products that you are crazy about and especially how great the business is for you and your family. Print your blog address on all your materials. When a potential new recruit visits with you about joining, send them right to your blog so they can take an insider’s peek into what life is like working with your direct sales company.

  2. Step 2

    Hold an expo. An expo is a fabulous way to gain an unbelievable amount of attention, new customers and new additions to your downline. Of course, it’s no small undertaking, but even if you’ve never so much as attended an expo, you can learn how to hold an expo by checking out the resources below.

  3. Step 3

    Think about where your customers shop in your community. Make a list of all the places you can come up with that are non-competing businesses and then one by one, visit with the manager about co-marketing. Offer to hand out their coupons to your entire client base in exchange for them handing out yours.

  4. Step 4

    Life these days gets busier and busier- especially for moms. Taking a couple hours out of their day to attend a party can be a pretty low priority. If you want to have a stand out business, you must respond to this in a fresh way. Think about an invitation that goes something like this:

    “You’re invited to a Speed Party! Women today are so incredibly busy, so we are going to make this the fastest your biz name here) party you’ve ever seen. Beginning promptly at 6PM and lasting only until 6:45PM, you can be in and out in a flash! And as a special thank you for taking time out of your busy day to come to (your hostess’ name here)party, this invitation entitles you to choose one item from our free gift table!”

Tips & Warnings
  • Your free gifts can be items from your company or a bundle of things you've picked up at the dollar store and beautifully wrapped. Presentation is everything.
  • Think about your own life and what would compel you as a busy woman to do something - that's how you should market your business to others.
  • Don't be afraid to re-invent the traditional direct sales party. What worked in 1955 may not work as well now.
  • A silly party game isn't going to make sales for you. Responding to who your customer really is will.
