Instructions
  1. Step 1

Aromatherapy can be used to help reduce stress and relax the body and mind. It is the use of oils and extracts from plants to promote relaxation—and a popular way to help reduce a variety of symptoms. There are stores that specialize in different types of aromatherapy products as well as many online aromatherapy websites that can be readily found.

  2. Step 2

Music therapy has been used for many years in clinical management for various types of medical treatments and therapies. Music can have positive effects on the mind, body and emotions by helping you to relax and reduce stress. There are many types of music you can choose depending on your tastes and preferences. Jazz, meditative and spiritual genres are just a few examples.

  3. Step 3

Acupressure and acupuncture involve applying pressure or very fine needles to specific acupuncture points along the body to help correct the balance of energy that flows through the body. Do your research before you decide to visit an acupuncturist, and always consult your medical doctor first.

  4. Step 4

Visualization or imagery involves focusing on a mental image or imagining you are in a peaceful place. This practice promotes relaxation within the body and can help to reduce stress.

  5. Step 5

Meditation and yoga will help increase peacefulness and awareness within your mind and body by helping you to relax. There are many meditation courses, classes and music tapes available to guide you in these practices.

  6. Step 6

Laughter is certainly a great way to reduce stress and help heal the mind and body. Research shows a strong correlation between humor and reducing the risk of illness by boosting the immune system's ability to resist disease.

  7. Step 7

Massage therapy can also help to improve mind and body health by relaxing the muscles through massaging the soft tissues. This helps to relieve tension and stress from tightness and overuse. It also helps to stimulate circulation.

  8. Step 8

Find time to be quiet and silent. This will help you relax your mind and find inner peace. Go to a place where you will not be interrupted and sit for at least an hour in solitude and silence. Enjoy the outdoors and nature.
