-
Step 1
God has given us different kinds of work to do (Ecclesiastes 9:10).
-
Step 2
God wants us to be happy in our work and expects us to enjoy the results of it (Ecclesiastes 3:13).
-
Step 3
He is in the routine and midst of our work and has established it as a means of daily provision (Psalm 90:17).
-
Step 4
All work is blessed when we allow God to work through us to reach others (Proverbs 22:29).
-
Step 5
We are partners with God in our work, and must learn how to labor WITH Him instead of against Him (Deuteronomy 30:9-10).
-
Step 6
Although there is an unlimited supply of the kind of work we may choose to do, we are to perform it without emphasis on self, but with wholehearted focus on others (Colossians 3:23).
-
Step 7
We should seek work-life balance from God’s perspective in order to adjust our working patterns and provide a way to fulfill personal aspirations and leisure endeavors. This means exercising moderation instead of greed (Ecclesiastes 5:12); patience instead of haste (Proverbs 28:20); generosity instead of miserliness (2 Corinthians 9:10-11); love for God instead of money (1 Timothy 6:9-10); and renewal through God’s rest (Hebrews 4:8-11).
-
Step 8
Achieving success in managing the daily grind means disengaging from the rat-race and its busyness, and re-engaging with God and His Spirit to find peace for the whole person. We must always remember for Whom we are really working. Ask God to bless your work, then move forward and boldly take hold of the blessing (Proverbs 16:3).
