Helpful tips on how to relieve your baby's gassy tummy.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Mylicon
  • Peppermint extract
  • Patience

Step1
Almost every baby sometime or another gets a gassy tummy, sometimes it is the last thing you think of. Here are a few ideas and tips to get your baby feeling better. Please remember to consult your doctor if you are unsure before you try anything.
Step2
Mylicon, it is made for gassiness in infants and toddlers. You can buy it at almost any place that sells over the counter medicines, and often times you can get the generic kind for a lot cheaper than the name brand kind. It is also available in the dye free formula. You may have also heard of some people putting a few drops peppermint extract in babys formula it helps eliminate gas also. Somtimes the gassiness is caused from being constipated and what does help is a little prune juice. Mix 1oz of juice to 3 oz of water.
Step3
Make sure after each feeding your baby gets burped well, because sometimes too much air gets into their tummy from feeding. Try to make your baby a warm bottle because colder water holds more gas. You could also try a warm bath sometimes this relaxes the baby. Try laying baby flat on their back and move their legs like a bicycle motion, or try laying them on their tummy and rubbing and patting their back. I hope these tips were helpfull. Good luck to you and your baby.
