Step 1
For this method, you first have to see the flop. After the flop shows, you will have to calculate the number of outs you have. An out is a card that will give you a winning hand. Note, that an out is the next card you need. If you need two more cards to give you a winning, it's not an out. For example, if you have an open straight draw after the flop, you have two outs, and cards that would pair your hand are also outs. Remember that a winning hand is for you to decide. Perhaps an out would pair your ace, giving you a pair of aces. But a pair of aces may still lose. In essence, this method is to calculate your chances of getting a particular hand, not necessarily a win.

Step 2
Once you determine the number of outs you have after the flop, multiply that number by 4. That is the percentage you have of getting your hand. For example, if you have 4 outs, you have a 16% chance of getting your hand.

Step 3
After the turn card, calculate the number of outs you have and multiply that number by 2, which again gives you your percentage of getting your hand.

Step 4
This is a simplistic but very useful method of odd calculating. A more complex and mathematical article will soon follow. I'll keep you updated on it.
