How to make your own Cheese Spread Similar To Cheese Whiz!

A delicious homemade variety of an old favourite, a great home-warming gift or just to have on hand for your own family.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Four cups of shredded medium cheddar cheese
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon molassas
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  1. Step 1

    Combine all ingredients in the top of a double boiler. Cook stirring constantly until all the cheese is melted.

  2. Step 2

    Remove from heat and beat until smooth.

  3. Step 3

    Store in the refrigerator. This recipe makes approximately two pounds of spread.

on 8/17/2009 I like the interesting ingredients, but doesn't it separate if you just boil it all together like you recommend? I'm not sure I would make a cheese sauce using these steps, but the ingredients sound good.
