Most of us get up in the morning and gulp down our multi-vitamins, grab breakfast, and off we go. But did you know, there is a right way to take mulit-vitamins, so you get the most benefit?
According to Dr. Oz, from the Oprah Show, a multi-vitamin should be broken in half and taken 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 at night. By taking the vitamin in 2 parts, you stabilize what would be dumped quickly into your system if taken all at once.
Step2
Take your multi-vitamin with plenty of fluid. It helps dissolve the pill.
Step3
Take a multi-vitamin that fits your age group. Pre-menopausal women should take iron and 5,000 units of Vitamin A. Post-menopausal women and men should take a basic multi-vitamin with 2,500 units of Vitamin A.
Step4
I have linked a website with Dr. Oz's advice on taking vitamins. Your age determines exactly what type of vitamins to take. He has a list for people in their 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's+. As well as vitamins for men and women. I have also linked to another article I have on How to Take the Best Vitamins.
Tips & Warnings
Did you know that we should take 1000 units of Vitamin D/day or get 10 minutes of direct sun exposure?
Take calcium with magnesium to help absorb the calcium.

on 8/8/2008 Thanks for the information. I've been taking my vitamin in the morning or afternoon, but I would prefer breaking it in half. Thanks again.
