Do not take more than two lab classes in any one semester.

Register for something enjoyable every semester to alleviate the stress.

Classes get more difficult the further along in college you get. Take more credit hours early on in your college career so that you can lessen the load when the course work gets more difficult.

Utilize summer school. Even if you go home for summers, take a class at your local community college. The course are typically cheaper and it will make your semester load easier. Recommended courses would be required English, Math or Foreign Language Requirements. Make sure your credits will transfer before taking the course.

Keep in mind that you are educating yourself for a career that will hopefully last you 40 or more years. If it takes you an extra year, so be it. Take fewer credit hours, get better grades and do more with your degree.
