Want to stop your indigestion the natural way, without popping a pill, or chugging the pink stuff? There are common foods in your refrigerator that can ease and eliminate the pain and bloating of indigestion.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • an upset stomach
  • asparagus or celery
  1. Step 1

Both asparagus and celery are considered "alkaline" foods and can reverse and eliminate the acid buildup in your stomach if eaten. If you are feeling the pain of indigestion, eat a small portion of asparagus or celery and wait 15 minutes to see if you feel better.

  2. Step 2

If you do not feel better within 15 minutes, eat another small portion of either the asparagus or celery. Continue in this manner until your stomach is calmed.

  3. Step 3

Try to remain upright while you are treating your indigestion, as laying down when you have an upset stomach can reduce the effects of this treatment. Asparagus seems to be the most effective in treating the pain of indigestion, with celery coming in a close second.

on 7/22/2008 I didn't know that. I know that both help with bloating.
