We recently went on vacation to Gatlinburg Tennessee. If you haven’t been there you should try to make it. It’s a beautiful location very close to the Smoky Mountains. There are many things to do in Gatlinburg. It’s hard to decide which to do first or what you think you’ll like best. If you only have a couple of days to spend, here are a few ideas.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Coupons
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Time
  1. Step 1
    Ramada Limited Hotel

Get coupons from the hotel you are staying or any visitor centers around town. These coupons will help make the trip less expensive. They are coupons for most all the attractions. Sometimes you can find group discount coupons also.

  2. Step 2
    Sand Crab

Visit the Ripley’s Aquarium. The aquarium has really cool fish! We saw sharks, manatees’, poisonous fish, crabs, and many other species. They even have a tank where you can pet a sand crab. It was pretty cool; feels slick but rough at the same time. You’ll have to try it for yourself to see what I mean. There are informational plates at the exhibits to tell you a little about each species. One section has a moving floor that takes you along as you watch all the fish swimming around. If you have motion sickness like I do, don’t worry, you can walk along side the moving floor! The Ripley’s Aquarium is definitely something you should see if you go to Gatlinburg.

  3. Step 3
    Tennessee Museum of Aviation

Go see the Tennessee Museum of Aviation. The museum offers many different planes for viewing, a gift shop, and knowledgeable volunteers to explain everything. They even have a cockpit you can sit in and mess with all the controls. It’s a great photo op!

  4. Step 4
    Gatlinburg

Playing putt-putt golf, going to Dolly Wood, or any of the other many attractions will fill up all your extra time. There are so many things to do in and around Gatlinburg that you are sure to find something for the whole family.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remember your camera
  • Plan things well in advance because of traffic
