Mayonnaise is a traditional, natural treatment for dry hair. It is the most common food used to restore moisture and shine to your locks. The popularity of mayonnaise for conditioning hair, is due to the fact that the 3 main ingredients, eggs, vinegar, and oil, are all great for restoring your hair's moisture. Eggs, vinegar, and oil can be used individually to provide volume, shine, and hydration to your hair, or you can get the benefits of all three by using mayonnaise.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Apply the mayonnaise to your hair.

  2. Step 2

Allow it to stay on your hair for 20 minutes.

  3. Step 3

Wash and dry your hair as usual.

Tips & Warnings
  • While waiting for the conditioner to do its work, you can cover your hair with a towel or a shower cap to prevent dripping.
  • If you are used to commercial conditioners, this will feel very different. When your hair is wet, it will not feel coated. This gives your hair deep conditioning that will last.
  • This may make your hair oily at the scalp. If this is a concern for your hair type, apply it only to the ends of the hair.
