Using coconut oil to nourish the hair and skin is an ancient tradition. Coconut oil is a conditioner that can be left in the hair to replace natural oils. It will leave your hair shinier and softer. This treatment is natural and provides more lasting results than any chemical treatments you can buy.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

You can buy coconut oil at any health food store and many grocery stores. Make sure it is pure coconut oil.

  2. Step 2

After washing your hair, take a small amount of coconut oil and spread it in the palm of your hands.

  3. Step 3

Work the oil into the ends of your wet hair. You do not need to wash this out of your hair.

on 2/16/2009 Thanks. I hadn't considered coconut oil to condition hair.

on 2/1/2009 Thanks for visiting my article! Coconut oil is hard at temperatures below 70 degrees. At 70, and above, it will begin to melt. It comes in jars! You do not squeeze coconut oil :) as I recently saw mentioned in another eHow article. It doesn't come in shampoo type bottles if it is pure coconut oil.
