Well this is another pretty broad article request. It assumes that the components and locations of said thermal fuse is universal for all Sony rear projection TV's. Or did you mean and actual projector using LCD technology? How about somebody request an EHow titled "How to fix my entire life"? That said lets see what i can do for you.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Screw driver, Phillips head, non magnetized.
  • Common sense pertaining to the assembly and reverse of electronics.
  • Understanding of electrical theory or at least the sense not to touch anything you don't recognize.
  • tupper wear containers or small dishes to sort the parts and screws in.

Step1
The thermal fuse is likely located above or near the lamp assembly.
Remove the plastic shroud from the rear of the set to expose the internal components
Step2
Remove the center pillar
Step3
You may need to remove the entire lamp assembly or just the fan housing. It all depends on the size of your hands and screwdrivers available.

Tips & Warnings

  • Sorting the screws and small components into plastic containers is a good way to keep things grouped in the order they came off the set. You will be amazed at how quickly your forget where a component was supposed to go when it comes time to re-assemble things
  • Order the new thermal fuse before taking the set apart. It'll be easier to remember where things are supposed to go if you do it all at once.
  • This isn't a wall mart cheapo toaster. If you've never done this sort of work before its ill advised that you attempt this. Get a technician to come out and do it properly
  • Static discharge can short out and ruin circuit boards, take precautions to ensure that you are grounded.
