Step 1
As early as when you are expecting, register on websites such as BabyCenter.com and WebMd.com. They often have great links for discounts and coupons for baby diapers and other items.
-
Step 2
Baby Registry- include diapers and wipes on your baby registry. Register for newborn diapers and even up to size 2 or 3. Some registries will give you 10% off for any items left on your registry once the baby is born.
-
Step 3
Before you leave the hospital after delivery, ask the nurses for some diapers. Often times, they have already opened a new package for you and will give you the remainder. They may even give you a few unopened packages!
-
Step 4
Coupons- clip coupons for diapers. Pampers and Huggies usually have coupons in the Sunday newspaper, in parenting magazines and even in the diaper boxes. Usually the Pampers coupons are for at least $1 off one box. Coordinate with sales and save even more. Ask family and friends to also save these coupons for you.
-
Step 5
Compare prices- know the prices for diapers at your local stores. You may find the best price at a warehouse discount store or at Target. Always take advantage of sales and promotions!
-
Step 6
Diaper company websites- Pampers.com offers a program called Gifts to Grow. The purchase of Pampers products earns you points toward rewards. Each sleeve of diapers in a box has a code on it. If you also purchase Pampers wipes, these also have codes. Once you have registered at Pampers.com, you simply enter the codes and watch the points add up! The rewards include coupons for free diapers (jumbo pack), gift cards and other products. It is free to join and an easy way to earn free diapers.
-
Step 7
I have followed all of these steps myself for the past year and a half and I can honestly say that I have never paid full price for a box of diapers!

on 5/9/2009 Great tips on how to save money on baby diapers! I am not yet a mother and am not even pregnant, but I know this day will come so it is definitely worth it to read articles like this now before I make the mistake of spending too much! Thanks! 5*

on 7/21/2008 Calculate each brand's cost per diaper to have an accurate comparison. Stock up during sales and check out store brands. Some are great (Target and Kirkland) but others are not as good.
