Things You'll Need:
- 2/3 cup shortening or butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 3 1/4 cups of flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large bowls
- Mixer
- Baking sheet
- Conventional oven

Step 1
In a large bowl, cream the shortening and the sugar.

Slowly stir in the eggs, extract, and milk.

In the other bowl, mix the dry ingredients.

Now add the dry ingredients to the large bowl of creamed items.

Mix with mixer until combined. With hands, shape dough into a ball.

Wrap ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours.
After this 'cooling down' period, your dough will be ready to bake with. -
Step 7
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Lightly grease cookie sheets.

Roll out your dough on a lightly floured surface.

With floured cookie cutters, cut into shapes. Reroll trimmings and cut.

Place cookies 1/2 inch apart on cookie sheets.

Bake 8 minutes or until very light brown.

Remove cookies from oven and place them on racks to cool.
