The many health benefits of cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) have made it a valued herbal remedy in many cultures and civilizations. Cinnamon “sticks" ( or "quills") are typically 4 to 5 inch-long rolls of thin, dried bark that can be grated or crushed into cinnamon powder. Cinnamon is also widely used to improve the taste of many less palatable herbs.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 cups water
  • Saucepan
  • Honey or stevia (optional)
  1. Step 1

Place the cinnamon in a saucepan and pour in the water. Bring it to a boil over medium heat.

  2. Step 2

Lower the heat and simmer until the water turns a shade of reddish brown

  3. Step 3

Pour the tea into a cup. Add a sweetener if desired. Drink 2 to 3 cups a day.
