Checking out a doctor is easy if you have web access. Check out the listing in the resources section and you will be surprised at what you see.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • the website
  • doctor's name
  • doctor's address
  • doctor's specialy
  • your state

Step1
Know the doctor's name (last name) and if possible the first name and or the first initial of the doctor's first name.

Have this ready on a piece of paper.
Step2
IF you do not know the first name and or last name, you can check out a doctor by their specialty. For example, search at the website under "surgeons", and then go through the list of the surgeons to find the one that you are looking for.
Step3
Use the website more than once, just to get used to it. In time you will have the search system down pat and you will be able to check out any doctor who is with the AMA (American Medical Association).

Also, if your doctor is in the computer database, you might be able to come up with a listing for "non-AMA" doctors.

It is all at the website, here it is:

Read the tips and warnings section as soon as you can.

Tips & Warnings

  • Ask other people , who have no financial interest in you, what doctors that they recommend. (For example, if your doctor gets money for referrals to specialists, then your doctor will not be the one to ask about these things.
  • If you want to complain about doctors and you have legitimate concerns, then you might complain to the government. And if all else fails, use your art or your writings to tell the whole world about your experiences. Be short, be precise but be persistent in getting your very important message across to the nations.
  • Always double-check if you find no results. Ask all your family members and friends if they have had any dealings with that particular doctor.
