All girls want to lose their muffin top. Here are some basic rules to help lose that extra weight around the midsection.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Healthy Food
  • Dedication
  • Discpline
  • Water
  • Body Movement
  1. Step 1

Drink more water and less soda, energy drinks, and those coffee beverages. Everyone should consume half their body weight in ounces of water per day. Example: I weigh 200 lbs, I should drink 100 ounces of water everyday for optimal hydration.

  2. Step 2

Stay away from alcohol. Alcohol has empty calories and slows your metabolism down. Yes a glass of wine every once in awhile won't hurt, but every night having a few might help put on the pounds.

  3. Step 3

Start resistance training three times per week. Resistance training helps build lean body mass, which helps speed the metabolism, which ultimately takes off the pounds.

  4. Step 4

Try to stay away from dairy products and wheat gluten. Some people have allergies to these products, which may contribute to weight gain. Try quitting for a few weeks and see what happens.

  5. Step 5

Eat 4-6 small meals every day. This keeps your blood sugar stabilized throughout the day, which helps burn fat. Eating big meals teaches the body to store fat.

  6. Step 6

Eat fruits when you want something sweet, instead of those sugary snacks. Nothing put on more than weight than eating sweets. Fruits are a great substitute. I like Fuji apples, grapes, mango, and honeydew.

Tips & Warnings
  • 3500 calories is equal to one pound
  • Move your body
  • Burn more calories than you eat
  • Remember, before undertaking any exercise program one should consult a physician. Any exercise, nutritional or therapeutic opinions stated herein are based solely on my own personal experiences. Everyone is different and I therefore always recommend that before doing any new activity, exercise program, weight loss program or nutritional program, it is best to first check with your own doctor to make sure anything I recommend is OK for you in light of your current medical condition and history. on 6/6/2009 Hey Moses - there are some great ideas here. The one that resounded for me was the statement that "...Eating big meals teaches the body to store fat!" How true that is! I have been teaching myself to listen out for the feeling that my stomach is full. At a buffet recently, I nibbled on three full plates of food, sending over three quarters of each plate away to be thrown out! Although this is really a very wasteful way to do a buffet, my friends all understood, and I felt so much better for the rest of the day!
