How to have fun tailgating at a ballpark

Tailgating can be lots of fun!

Do you enjoy cooking over an open fire in the company of your friends or family? Do you enjoy conversing with people you don't know regarding the smell of charcoal? If so, this article is for YOU!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a small grill or the equivalent that is transportable
  • brats, hamburger, oother meat patty, or meat-less burger to grill
  • vegetables and skewer sticks if making cabobs
  • chips and dip
  • drinks
  • cups and plateware
  • utensils
  • starter fluid or the equivalent
  • sun lotion
  • condiments
  • buns
  • entertainment for friends or familyTable
  • Chairs
  • Ice for coolers
  1. Step 1

    If tailgating, you must pick a location and get there early. Tailgating requires space - you don't have to have a big, huge truck...your compact car will work fine. Miller Park in WI. has special parking htat you can purchase that lets you cook or tailgate!

  2. Step 2

    If you have a table and lawnchairs, that is great, if not, flip over your coolers and big a large piece of wood to go across them as the table. You won't even need a fancy tablecloth!

  3. Step 3

    Start cooking...MMMmmmmm.

  4. Step 4

    Layout your chairs conducive to conversation and games.

  5. Step 5

    Consider bringing a bean bag toss game when grilling in a parking lot. If frisbee is your choice of game - look out for people and cars!!!

  6. Step 6

    Cook your meat and layout the food in an informal arrangement for grabbing.

  7. Step 7

    After your party is through eating, be sure to clean up after yourself.

  8. Step 8

    Carefully stow aware the grill, ashes, and anything that is flammable.

  9. Step 9

    Ensure everyone has a ticket for the event!

  10. Step 10

    Root, root, root for the hometeam!!!

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't burn your meat - with the company of friends and family you could easily get distracted.
  • If you forgot an item, borrow from people you don't know if they seem friendly - this may be a good way to get to know others around your vehicle.
  • Have one person from your party go into the ballpark before the others to save a seat, buy the seats, or scope out your tickets pre-purchased.
  • Wear sun protection!!!
  • Be aware of folks who may have had too much to drink!!!!
  • Don't try to bring food into the ballpark!!
  • Your bags will likely get searched if at a large stadium.
