This article will explain how to hookup a converter box. Since all broadcasts will only be digital as of February 2009, a converter box will be needed for TV's still using an antenna. Knowing how to hookup a converter box will make it easy.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Converter box with a coaxial input and output
  • 2 coaxial cables
  • Coaxial wall jack, or other cable source
  • TV with a coaxial input
  1. Step 1

Run a coaxial cable coming from a coaxial wall jack, or other cable source, into the converter box's coaxial input.

  2. Step 2

Run a coaxial cable coming from the converter box's coaxial output, into a coaxial input in your TV.

  3. Step 3

Make sure that everything is plugged into an electrical outlet, put your TV on channel 3 or 4, and you will be able to watch the converter box channels on your TV.

Tips & Warnings
  • For the best picture quality, be sure to use thick screw-on coaxial cables. Using a thin screw-on or push-on, or even a thick push-on coaxial cable will still give you a good picture, but not the best. There may be some interference while not using a thick screw-on coaxial cable.
