How to REPAIR FAULTY GHD HAIR STRAIGHTNERS........

If your GHD's are faulty & turn on & off in a unusual manner other than the norm, try this option as a remedy before you fork out alot of $$$$ on a new one....hope it helps :)

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Faulty GHD
  • Small head driver
  • Small phillips driver
  • Small tweezers
  • Small long nosed pliers
  1. Step 1
    Tools you need
     
    Tools you need

    You will need-Faulty GHD's, Small flat head screwdriver, Small phillips head screwdriver & Small tweezers

  2. Step 2
    2 small screws
     
    2 small screws

    Holding the faulty GHD's arms closed together, Use the Small Phillips Screw driver & remove the 2 small screws (as per picture) using the tweezers

  3. Step 3
    Rubber O-Ring removed
     
    Rubber O-Ring removed

    Pull back Rubber O-Ring from connection end & rest it toward the cord

  4. Step 4
    Case removed, Wires Exposed
     
    Case removed, Wires Exposed

    Lift & remove the casing, you will now see the cord tip & wires exposed. On the side of the circuit board furtherest from you, tighten the silver connections by squeezing gently by using the long nosed pliers or even the tweezers, but do this very gently.....your almost done.....

  5. Step 5

    Now put end casing back on & screw the screws back into the GHD, replace the Rubber O-Ring in its orginal position. And you're done.

Tips & Warnings
  • If this doesnt work, it could be the thermostat
  • Do not repair while plugged in (of course)

on 10/8/2008 I love tearing apart appliances and fixing them. I'm going to mourn severely when my beloved hairdryer bites the big one. It could be throwing flames and I'd still try to dry my hair with it because they just don't make them that powerful anymore!! :) Good tips for cheapskates like me who like to make things last! 5*
