How to Make an Orange Julius
The Orange Julius was born in the same decade as the concept of shopping malls, which is where most people find the frosty drink. It was launched in the late 1920s by Julius Freed, who owned an orange juice stand in Los Angeles. A friend suggested he think about selling something besides orange juice, and after a few years of experiments, Freed settled on the mix of juice, milk, vanilla and ice cubes that form the Orange Julius. The company eventually added different flavors and smoothies, but the basic drink is simple enough to replicate at home. Does this Spark an idea?
