Cure a Sore Throat

Sore throats are caused by viruses. Headaches and a scratchy throat is a good sign you are catching a common cold. Some may confuse a scratchy throat with strep throat, which also has a sore throat but is typically accompanied with fever and nausea. The best time to treat a sore throat is the minute you get a dry throat or that scratchy throat feeling. Let me tell you a quick and easy way to cure your sore throat symptoms.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 tbsp Distilled white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Iodized salt
  • Cup
  • Warm water
  1. Step 1

Place the vinegar and salt in a cup. I prefer using a paper cup so I can just discard instead of wash dishes.

  2. Step 2

Add warm water to cup and stir. Do not make the water too hot. You want it the same temperature as a good cup of tea or soup.

  3. Step 3

Gargle and discard. Continue gargling with the mixture for 2 minutes three times per day until sore throat goes away.

Tips & Warnings
  • Visit your doctor if the sore throat persists or if there is an obvious throat infection.

on 8/26/2008 This really does work, at least temporarily. I just tried this and gargled for about 5 min. and about 90% of the soreness/pain went away. I'll continue to do the same.
