This trick ranges moderate to challenging depending on the number of hoops thrown, the accuracy of the thrower & the number of rabid chipmunks attacking you while you do it.

right handers readying for frisbey style throw

If you hoop to the right (clock-wise) have the thrower(s) throw the hoop right handed like a frisbee, if you hoop to the left have them throw it with their left hand like a frisbee. If you go the opposite way that they throw, have them hold it in both hands horizontally and do a "push" throw over you, so the hoop is not spinning when it gets to you.

  3. Step 3

As the hoop come toward you, use the force maintain focus on the hoop(s) on your waist and trust that your body's natural instincts will react to catch the hoop.

  4. Step 4

Unless the throw misses by a mile or hits you in the head- either way dont worry, they can get a missed hoop and, unless you razor blade edged or exploding hoops they really don't hurt that much (oh yeah, don't try this trick with a tractor tire either - look up Dizzyhips tractor tire-)

  5. Step 5

Sometimes it helps to keep your arms up to guide the hoop in

  6. Step 6

When you have a lot on you may want to spin your body with tem to keep them in synch with each other.

Tips & Warnings
  • Method hooping: Meisner would tell you to go live with a family of Tasmanian Devils for five years before doing this trick. Although that may be fun, Dizzy Hips says "just hoop it!"
  • Not responsible for injuries due to razor edged hoops or exploding hoops
  • ...Or tractor tires
