Step1
Make a list of things you don't like to do, and things you procrastinate regularly. My ongoing Bad Day list includes things I really dislike doing, things I've put off that I don't want to do, uncomfortable calls to return, exchanges and returns, that school project that must be finished, research I was not looking forward to, notation to talk someone about a situation I'd rather not - but will eventually have to (like on a Bad Day).
Here's my current list:
Pay Bills (never leaves the list)
Wash Bedding (never leaves the list)
Flip Mattress (rotates)
Make Dentist Appointment
Clean Interior of Car
Dump Run
Update Spare Key Ring
Rest assured, if you follow my advice on How To Deal With a Bad Day, soon you will smile at the list. Now however, just know that you can quit feeling guilty about having put off these tasks, because you have a plan.
Step2
Recognize the Bad Day early in the Day if possible, you'll know the day when it arrives. As soon as you recognize that the day is going to be "One Of Those Days" (miserable): Grab Your List.
Step3
Don't try to feel better. Work your list! Do every miserable thing you can off that list, and grouse about it the whole time. If you're at work (Yes, I have a "home list" and a "work list"), you may need to tone down the Bad Day Attitude a bit. Get as many items done on the list as humanly possible. If you are at work when you begin the Work List, when you go home tackle the Home List. After dinner but before bed, something magical will happen. You will feel fantastic. No kidding, your bad day wil have been extremely productive--and all (or most) of those things you didn't want to do are done.
Step4
Relax after a very productive day. Revel in how many things that you normally procrastinate, you were able to get done, all in one day! Experience the power of moving INTO the Bad Day and controlling it, instead of being a victim to it. In my experience, Bad Days are very productive. Also, you already have the attitude, so instead of ruining small parts of different days, doing these things on a Day already gone bad really uses the day, and your displeasure, effectively.
Step5
Before you go to bed, refresh your Bad Day List with the next round of things you don't want to do next. Keep it handy and add things to your list until you recognize another Bad Day. I bet you'll be smiling when you hit the sack--that's why I leave washing the bedding on all the time....every Bad Day I have, I crawl into clean sheets at the end of a very productive day!

on 7/18/2008 Sounds like great advice. But do far, the only thing on my list of things I don't want to do is "Make a list of things I don't want to do". Welcome to eHow.
