How to Write a Free Verse Poem

Poetry takes many forms of expression, but when you Write a love poem in free verse it allows a wider release of inner thoughts, feelings and emotions we never think of. Allow feelings to surface in your love poetry either of pain or contentment. Have the words flow from your heart to your fingers as if they were one. Speak it out loud to yourself as if you were using a cell phone just to hear how the poem sounds.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Computer
  1. Step 1

    Write your poetry by thinking about something you feel strongly about. Be in tune with your free feelings and allow your emotions to move within you. You will need these charged up emotions to inspire you.

  2. Step 2
     

    Sit at a computer or wherever you do your best poem writing and thinking and let the thoughts flow out of your mind, your heart and fingers. This is what makes it so easy to write a poem verse. Enter a poetry contest to see what the judges think about your poetry. Maybe you will even win cash with your love poetry.

  3. Step 3
     

    Do not not stop writing your poem if you feel you are misspelling a word. Keep your concentration going and the words flowing. When your feelings have been released, your free verse poetry will, like magic, come to an end. Now you have finished writing a poem in free verse

  4. Step 4
    read your free verse poetry

    Sit back and edit what you have written. Put your poems into a book and sell it. Make a lot of money if it sells cheap. Make the money by selling quantity. Do not change the poem's meaning or content. Make sure your name and date are on the bottom of the page.

Tips & Warnings
  • Write from your heart, into your fingers onto the keyboard.
  • Sit quietly and gather your feelings, your emotions will tell you what to write.
  • Do not force the writing. If your thoughts and feelings do not surface then stop writing. Wait until your emotions come forth to help you.
