Do you want to know how to use slang when you are texting or instant messaging. Here is an guide on how to leetspeek, or leet for short.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Phone
  • Computer
  1. Step 1

    With leet, you use numbers instead of letters, so leet would be texted as 1337. The number 1 is a replacement for the letter L, the number 3 is a backwards E and 7 replaces the T. Commonly, the 8 replaces the B and the 9 replaces a G and the the number zero replaces the letter O.

  2. Step 2

    Instead of using an S for a plural a Z is used. Z can also be used elsewhere in a word, like mess would be mezz.

  3. Step 3

    Misspelled words are not corrected. If Adn is typed instead of And, it is ignored.

  4. Step 4

    Vowels are left out. Instead of the word renewal, it would be texted rnwl. You see this a lot on peoples license plates.

  5. Step 5

    Capitalization is mixed. You will see this as often as you will see tHiS.

  6. Step 6

    You can use characters to replace letters. Such as $ would represent money and \/\/ would be W.

  7. Step 7

    Here are some common leet words you should have in your arsenalL

    kewl = cool
    roxx0rs = rocks
    m4d = mad
    noob = newbie
    d00d = dude
    u = you
    r = are
    bff = bestfriend forever
