Step1
First thing you need to get is a EIN number,if you are planning on doing this for the long run. Contact the IRS so you can deduct your exspenses on your income tax.
Step2
Then make sure you have a quiet place to work, get you a desk, a speaker phone, and answer machine and caller id, if you can get a headset that would be good too.( you do not want to miss any call) That one call could give you some good contacts.
Step3
Make sure you get a notebook and pens. Get you some sort of file system so you can put all your calls in, important contacts and so forth, this is very important.
Step4
What you are going to do is get your first client, look through the phonebook for companies that will need someone to set appointments for their buiness, such as insurance agents, janitorial companies, window installers for windows etc. any company that needs someone to set appointments for them. Just casually tell them that you are starting your own business and you want to know if they are in need of someone setting appointments for their business.
