Step 1
Begin by making a list of everyone for whom you need or want to give a gift. Do not forget to add co-workers, boss, teachers, neighbors, etc. to your list, even if you normally only buy them a small gift. You may want to add a separate list for stocking stuffer gifts.
-
Step 2
Go through your list and write down next to each name a gift that you have already decided for that person. Brainstorm gifts for those people on your list for whom you do not have predetermined gifts. Keep the list handy so that you can add to it as you think of gifts.
-
Step 3
If you also want to budget your Christmas spending, add the cost of each gift to your list as well.
-
Step 4
Beginning in July allows you the extra months to take advantage of sales on the gifts that you need to purchase. In the next few months visit the stores and/or websites for the gifts that you want to give. If you are planning on making a gift, you will be thankful for the extra time to save on materials and to complete the project stress-free.
-
Step 5
As the holiday season approaches, you should only have a few last minute gifts to purchase. You can still take advantage of the holiday sales for Christmas specific gifts and items- such as scented candles, wrapping paper and accessories, music and movies and food.
-
Step 6
Relax and enjoy the holidays! From now on, each year you will look forward to planning Christmas in July!
