Do you dread interviews? Butterflies in your stomach are natural. But you can use these tips to make you more confident.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Appropriate Clothes
  • Pen/Pencil
  • Paper
  • Google
  • Yourself
Step1
Dress for the job. If you don't know what the appropriate dress is, overdress! I can't stress this enough. You won't get hired while wearing a Pantera T-shirt and ripped jeans. Personally, I wear a suit jack to all interviews.
Step2
Come prepared! If you know what your getting into, you'll be much more confident. And confidence is a good thing. Research the company and position on Google. Take lots of notes. Have questions prepared, employers like that. It shows you're interested enough in the position to take the time for research. And if you can, pick-up a copy of the company's newsletter. These can often be found in the waiting room.
Step3
Be honest. Try to make a good impression, but don't conceal who you really are. Good employers try to find someone who is a match for the position. And you don't want to end up in a position that you are not right for. No amount of money is worth being unhappy at your job.

Tips & Warnings

  • Act like you want to be there!
  • Be sure to shake hands with your interviewer.
  • Remember your interviewer's name. Use it when saying goodbye following your interview. Right it down for future reference.
  • Don't trash talk past employers.
  • Don't be afraid to take time to think about a question before answering.
