Money saving tips for doing your laundry! Extend your laundry soap and reward yourself with huge savings!

Things You'll Need:

  • Any liquid laundry soap like Era, Tide, Gain etc.
  • Household ammonia
  • Arm and Hammer washing soda
  • Clothspins
  1. Step 1

    Pre treat any stains with Spray and Wash or other favorite stain pre treament. Start your load of laundry. Use the cold water setting to save energy costs.

  2. Step 2

    Add 2 tablespoons of your favorite liquid laundry soap plus 2 tablespoons of Arm and Hammer Washing Soda (appx. 2.00 a box) and 2 tablespoons of ammonia. A coffee scoop is the perfect measuring device.

  3. Step 3

    That's it! You will save tons of money on laundry soap. This recipe makes your expensive liquid laundry soap last and last! Your clothes will hold their color better. They come out just as clean if not cleaner than just using the straight measuring cup of liquid laundry soap.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don’t use the “extra rinse” setting. You use gallons more water per load. A washing machine uses a lot of water as it is.
  • Use the cold water setting when possible.
  • Don’t do several small loads when you can do 1 or 2 large loads. Make a laundry day.
  • Invest in clothes pins and line dry your clothes whenever possible. Your clothes will smell great!
  • Make sure the lint filter on the dryer is clean before every load.
  • WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! Never ever mix Bleach with ammonia!
