After a day of being physical, getting a massage is a treat. It is especially nice if you are a martial artist and have been using your legs for your activity. Massaging the posterior of your legs to relieve pain and tension is something that you can easily do.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get in position for a posterior leg massage. One position is to lie flat on your stomach on a massage table. Another is to stand. Bend your leg at the knee and make sure that your food is resting flat either against a wall or on the floor.

  2. Step 2

Place your hands onto the posterior or back of your legs. Mold your hands around your leg so that you are touching as much of the back of your leg as possible.

  3. Step 3

Start at your thigh. Begin the massage at the top of the posterior of your leg and begin kneading your hands and knuckles into your leg. Move your hands down your thigh in this motion.

  4. Step 4

Smooth your thigh. After massaging your thigh with your knuckles, stroke your thigh several times to smooth it out before moving to the lower half of your legs.

  5. Step 5

Repeat the motions on your calf. Move your hands to the posterior of the bottom half of your leg and massage your knuckles into your legs. Continue to knead your leg in circular motions until you reach the ankle.

  6. Step 6

Smooth your calf. Just as you did with your thigh, stroke your calf several times to relax the muscles and heal them after the massage.

  7. Step 7

Repeat the massage on the other leg. After you have massaged one leg, make sure to do the same thing to the other leg so both muscles are equally massaged.
