Adopt a cheetah, caracal, King cheetah, African wild cat, African wild dog, lappet faced vulture, brown hyaena, Cape Griffon vulture, serval or African white backed vulture by partnering with The Dewildt Cheetah and Wildlife Trust Fund. You will receive a certificate and photos of your animal, as well as an invitation to visit yearly. Adoption start at as little as 250 ZAR, or $32.73 USD.

Step 2
Visit the African Wildlife Foundation's website. You will find a realm of information on how to adopt a many different types South African wildlife species under the "Engaging You" section of the site.

Join Defenders of Wildlife by signing up on their website. When you visit the site you will notice a search bar on the home page. This search engine will allow you to enter the name of almost any animal that you can think of, located anywhere in the world, and then helps you to adopt that animal through sponsorship

Visit the World Wildlife Fund's website, to view hundreds of species from all around the world that are threatened or endangered. You can click on the animal adoption link to view the entire list.

Step 5
Enroll in a hands-on course that can help you learn more about South African animals, and their preservation, while experiencing them first hand. Visit the Travelers Worldwide Voluntary Experience website, and sign up for the Discover Conservation Wildlife Course. Two, four and eight week courses allow you to work directly with the animals on a conservation site located in South Africa.
