Step 1
Plan your travel accommodations. There are several reasonably priced hotels near the Mall of America. The Mall of America is only about 5 minutes from the airport, which means you do not have to rent a car if you do not want to. Several airport hotels have free shuttles that provide regular service both to the airport and to the Mall of America.
-
Step 2
Decide how long you are going to stay, as well as what other attractions you want to see while you are in the area. If you are traveling with children, you can visit the Water Park of America, located less than a mile away from the mall. This is a great way to take a break from the mall and entertain the kids. They have water slides and pools for all ages, and it is a lot of fun for the whole family.
-
Step 3
Plan your vacation over some weekdays. There is a significant difference in traffic at the mall on weekends versus weekdays. To get the maximum experience and see the most possible, plan your days at the Mall of America on the weekdays. You will see a lot more at the mall when it is less crowded.
-
Step 4
Research the floor plan of the mall online to plan your day. You can plan well in advance the things you want to see and do, as well as any special activities going on during the time you will be visiting. The Mall of America has a website that shows all the latest promotions and specials going on throughout the mall.
-
Step 5
Enjoy your vacation. You will find every kind of food at the Mall of America, as well as an amusement park and even a movie theater. If you are looking for some variety in the mall, check out the wedding chapel and Underwater Adventures.
-
Step 6
Create buildings and animals at Legoland. You and your family can use your imagination to create wonders. It does not cost you anything to build at Legoland. During the afternoon hours, it does get a little crowded, so it might be better to visit during the dinner hours.
