How to Find Fourth of July Festivals

The Fourth of July is much more than our nation's birthday. It's quite easily one of the biggest barbecue days of the year, as well as a time for celebration and fireworks. If you have grown tired of your annual backyard cookout, you may wish to venture out and find a Fourth of July festival in your area. Learn how to scope out the best festivals you can find.

  • Local newspaper
  • Bulletin board at a library or food store
  • Advice from others
  1. Step 1

    Perform a Google search. Enter your city name and something like "Fourth of July festival." You should be able to pull up a whole bunch of events in your area.

  2. Step 2

    Visit your town's travel bureau website. You can often find detailed calendars with holiday celebration information. A quick dial to your county's chamber of commerce or visitor's bureau can provide you with plenty of information.

  3. Step 3

    Ask around. Ask the cashier at the supermarket and your next-door neighbor. Tell them you're looking for a fun, unique Fourth of July festival and get their advice.
