Things You'll Need:
- Note: Directions are for one favor.
- A tube from a roll of paper towels
- One sheet silver or gold tissue paper
- 2 feet of narrow silver or gold ribbon
- 3 x 5 piece of gold or silver cardstock
- Paper punch
- Stick on silver or gold letters
- A silver or gold pencil
- Six silver or gold wrapped chocolates
- Access to a computer and printer
- Sheet of white computer paper
- Clear tape

Step 1
Print up the following in the smallest possible font: “Open me up and pull out a treat and a sheet. Make all your predictions in private. Put the sheet back inside; let it hide for a year. Then open me once again and share. Which of you will make the most accurate predictions?

Step 2
Cut out the directions in Step 1 and glue onto the gold or silver 3 x 5 card. Punch a hole at the edge of the card. Set aside.

Step 3
Print out a list of fill-in-the-blank predictions on a sheet of white paper. Here are some suggestions (but let your friends’ interests guide you in making these up):The winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture will be _________.The next President of the United States will be _____________ (on election years only).The first snowfall (or the first 100 degree day) will be on the following date ________. I will weigh ___________ (more, less, the same) at the end of the year.The dollar will be worth _______ in Euros.

Step 4
Roll up the prediction sheet and place it inside the tube. Then add the chocolates and the pencil.

Step 5
Roll the tube in the gold or silver tissue and tape shut, allowing several extra inches of the tissue to hang over each end of the tube.

Step 6
Use the silver or gold sticky letters to put each person’s name on his or her favor.

Step 7
Tie the ribbon on at both ends of the tube, and puff out the extra tissue. Note: Before tying the ribbons, slide the gold card with the punched hole onto one of them.
