Step 1
Know the sizes. Finding the right goalie gloves is pretty simple. Unlike shoes, there is not a large variety of sizes to choose from. They come in small, medium, large and sometimes extra large. When you go to the sporting goods store, don't worry. Just be prepared to try them on.
-
Step 2
Understand how they should fit. Goalie gloves should fit you like the way a shoe fits your foot: you don't want them too tight, but you also don't want to leave too much room at the end either. The glove should be snug around your hand and come up just past your fingertips, maybe an inch or less. This will allow you to get a little extra reach when you are diving for the ball, but still enough that you can control it when you get your hands on the ball.

Step 3
Find gloves that feel good. The most important factor when getting goalie gloves is to go with a pair that feels right. You are going to have to wear them for 2 hours straight, tight around your hands and wrists. So make sure they are comfortable, feel good and will stay on your hands.

Step 4
Be sure that you like the way the glove fastens around your wrists. Make sure it's comfortable, and you feel like it can withstand the forces of the game. Some tie, most use Velcro. Get gloves that are comfortable.
