Kitchen gadgets and utensils with small, sharp holes are typically the biggest pains to clean. Pasta machines and pasta making attachments for other devices are just as aggravating to clean as cheese graters. But if you have a little patience, you can clean them the easy way.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dirty pasta machine or attachment
  • Sink
  • Dish soap
  • Dish washing brush or pad
  1. Step 1

When it's time to clean up after making pasta, start by removing the largest chunks of pasta dough from your machine or attachments. Throw these pieces away.

  2. Step 2

Set the dirty machine and attachments aside on your kitchen counter and leave them there overnight.

  3. Step 3

The next day, check on your pasta machine and attachments. The remaining bits of pasta dough should be completely dried up. If you touch them, they'll flake right off. Hold each piece over the sink and brush away the dried dough with your fingers. Wash the bits of crusted dough down the drain.

  4. Step 4

Your machine and attachments should still require a little cleaning, but no hard scrubbing. A quick run-through with hot water, dish soap and your ordinary dish washing tools will finish the job.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your machine parts and attachments are dishwasher safe, they can go directly into the dishwasher after you've scraped away the dried pasta dough.
  • Pasta attachments are sharp! Be careful not to cut yourself while cleaning.
