Receiving a bouquet of flowers can be the highlight of anyones day. Unfortunately, flowers will start to wilt after a day if they are not taken care of properly. Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bouquet of flowers
  • 1 vase
  • Pair of scissors
  • Aspirin
  1. Step 1

Take the bouquet of flowers out of the wrapper that they came in. Cut the stems of the flowers on a diagonal. This will optimize the surface space that draws in fresh water for them.

  2. Step 2

Crush an over the counter aspirin and place it in the bottom of the vase. Arrange the bouquet of flowers in the vase.

  3. Step 3

Fill the vase with room temperature water to within an inch of the top.

  4. Step 4

Remove the flowers from the vase after a week. Dump the water out of the vase and wash it out thoroughly. Make sure that you rinse out all of the soap in the vase.

  5. Step 5

Cut the flowers a half inch from the original cut, on the diagonal. This will give the flowers a fresh cut in which to take in water. Crush an aspirin and place it in the vase and rearrange the flowers. Fill the vase with room temperature water.

Tips & Warnings
  • A bouquet of flowers will last 2 to 3 weeks if you repeat this process every week.
  • Flowers are a great way to decorate a space. You do not need to wait to be given flowers. Buy yourself a bouquet every month to dress up your living quarters.
  • Remove any dead flowers from your bouquet to keep it looking its best. There are certain flowers that will wilt much faster then others.
