In a public place, say "Excuse me, I need to get to the restroom right away. I'm not feeling well." This will prompt people to allow you quick passage to a restroom.

At the workplace, say, "I have an upset stomach and must frequently use the restroom." In most workplaces, people have to be careful of what kind of language is used. You do not want to be written up because you foolishly use foul language when you don't feel well.

When speaking to the boss, say, "I have an upset stomach. I may have to go to the restroom frequently but feel I can still do my work today." If you are feeling weak or dehydrated, you may need to ask for the rest of the day off if you have a job that requires you to be on duty with breaks at appointed times. Ask for a sick day and go home. If you are not given a sick day, then tell the boss out right that you have to be able to get to the restroom at a moment's notice.

If you are at school, say, "I am not feeling well. I need to go to the restroom." If the teacher asks why tell him that you have cramps and an upset stomach. You may be asked to go to the nurse's office. The nurse can call home to get permission to give you medication for diarrhea or speak with a parent to come get you from school.

When you are out with friends, say, "I am not feeling well. I have cramps and need to use the bathroom right away." When you have returned from the restroom it is all right to quietly tell your friend that you have diarrhea and that you need to go home. Your friends care about you and would not want you to be uncomfortable. If they are casual friends that you would not speak freely with, tell them that you are not feeling well and will see them at another time. Then go home to where you can be yourself. Fix some hot tea and wear comfortable clothes to ease pressure on the abdomen.
