There are a variety of circus performances available both in the US and around the world. The circus is sure to please everyone in your group of business associates, friends or family. These athletes, animals and performers come from all over the country and across the globe. Providing you with a breathtaking and exciting experience is what they do. Here are some ways you can attend a circus.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Time
  • Money
  • Desire to see the circus
  • Tickets
  • Schedule
  • Newspaper
  • Radio
  1. Step 1

Look in your local newspaper, or on the Internet, TV or turn on the radio. These media outlets are sure to tell you of when the next circus will be in town. The newspapers are stuffed with advertisements and fliers regarding these events.

  2. Step 2

Check around town, you may see posters attached to telephone, traffic light and lighting poles all over. These are typically boldly printed on neon paper that is heavier stock so it can stand up to the weather.

  3. Step 3

Copy down the information you see on the poster or hear from other sources. It is somewhat difficult to remember a phone number or website you heard hours ago and especially when it may not have gotten your full attention. You could also take a photo of a sign with your cell phone camera.

  4. Step 4

Go on the circus websites for the major ones. They tour the country each year and often will come to the same arenas and coliseums. Click on items like "tickets," "schedule," "information," or "tour." Some circus links are provided within the article.

  5. Step 5

Check out your state, local and county fairs. They will often have a free scaled-down version of a circus performance under the big top many times throughout the run of the fair. Check your fair schedule or walk up to the giant tent to receive more information.

  6. Step 6

Arrive early for your performance. If you do not have reserved seating, sit a few rows back, especially if you are with small children.

  7. Step 7

Purchase food or drink while at the show. Popcorn helps add atmosphere to the show.

Tips & Warnings
  • Some circus performance proceeds benefit charities, so when you attend you are not only entertaining yourself but also helping others.
  • Listen to the radio or consult the newspaper to learn when discount or kids matinĂ©e circus performances will be held.
  • Sometimes you must purchase tickets through Ticketmaster or another outlet. Call or go online to the circus website for complete details.
  • Purchase tickets as soon as you know you want to attend.
  • Warn children of loud noises and flashes.
